Notices for week of 11th February 2020

 

  1. Thanks to everybody who helped make the quiz on Saturday such a success.  Especially Claudy and Sue J.  Also all those who helped set up and clear away and Theresa (Davis) for taking the tablecloths to wash.

A large HobbyCraft carrier bag containing several cans of drinks and some snacks was left on windowsill at back of the hall.  Any claimant?

  1. Thank you if you’ve already signed up for the spring concert.  Please can everyone else complete the concert and Thursday rehearsal columns on the register so we know who is singing – and who isn’t?
  2. Next notice is for any members who pay the subscription in two or three instalments and haven’t yet made their second payment.  This is now overdue, so please can you pay it asap?
  3. Reminder about free lunchtime concert on Weds 12th February 12.30pm at St Mary Magdalene Church. (Roddy and Gordon Giles playing piano and flute respectively.)
  4. David Nash announced the following concert which consists entirely of works composed by women:                                                       Thursday 27th February.  International Women’s Day, St Peter’s Church, Eaton Square (near Victoria Station) 1.15pm for 2.pm start.  Expected finish 3.45pm.

BBC Singers. Free! But you have to apply for tickets from the BBC website (bbc.c.uk/shows and tours).

The concert programme:  Apart from works by Judith Bingham, Joanna Gill, and Abbie Betinis, there will be the world premiere of a new work: The Seven Ages of Women. Seven composers contribute to this, including Cecilia McDowall.

David will be there and will keep an eye out for other choir members!

Rehearsal plan for March concert
