Mark Sproson has been the Musical Director of Enfield Choral Society since 2004.
He studied composition at Bristol University and music technology at City University. In recent years he has studied conducting Stephen Jackson, Gregory Rose, David Lawrence, and most recently with Denise Ham at the Blackheath Conservatoire.
As well as Enfield Choral Society he has conducted a number of other choirs and orchestras in London and the south east. As a singer he has performed for many years in this country and abroad with the BBC and several London choirs.
In 1999 he founded HELIOS Voices, one of the most accomplished and eclectic chamber choirs in London. The group celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2009 with a special series of performances. Mark is also an experienced and accomplished choral arranger and has written works for all his choirs.
