About Enfield Choral Society

Enfield Choral Society (ECS) was founded in 1938 and has grown in strength over the years.  We have a reputation for maintaining a high standard, whilst at the same time remembering that singing should be fun and enjoyable.

Enfield Choral Society are currently meeting every Tuesday evening during the academic year at St Stephen's Church, Bush Hill Park, London Road, Enfield, EN1 2ET, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.  During rehearsals we stop for a short break at approximately 8:30pm.  We held Zoom rehearsals throughout the pandemic and have been rehearsing live since September 2021. The choir produced its first "virtual" concert at Christmas 2020, premiering live on YouTube - view the concert here

We normally perform four concerts a year at venues in the Enfield area. There are usually additional rehearsals at the venue on the Thursday evening and the Saturday afternoon immediately before a concert. We also run occasional one-day workshops on a particular work, for which a small fee is charged.

We perform mainly classical choral works, with the summer concert usually being much ‘lighter’ e.g. extracts from ‘Gilbert and Sullivan’ or musicals.  We have also sung pieces composed by a member of the society, works written and arranged by our musical director, a jazz mass, and in conjunction with a youth choir.
